For a friend, writer and teacher, Iris (Naomi Watts) believes that her comfortable, lonely New York life, thrown in strife, after her closest friend and mentor (Bill Murray) suddenly die and leaves her beloved Dane of £ 150. The regal, but rude beast, named Apollo, immediately creates practical iris problems, from the destruction of furniture to eviction messages, including existing, impending presence, constantly reminds her friend’s problem choices, both in life and death. However, when Iris unexpectedly interacts with an animal, she begins to reconcile with her past, lost friend and her creative inner life.
