Prophetic Admonitions on Prayer
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ described Salah as the pillar of the Deen, the coolness of his eyes, and his final parting counsel before departing this worldly life.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The first matter that the servant will be brought to account for on the Day of Resurrection from his deeds is his prayer. If it is sound, he will have triumphed and succeeded; but if it is defective, he will have failed and lost.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The covenant that stands between us and them is prayer; so whoever abandons it has committed disbelief.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “If there were a river at the door of one of you in which he bathed five times a day, would any dirt remain on him?” They replied, “None!” He said, “That is the parable of the five daily prayers; Allah wipes away sins with them.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Give glad tidings to those who walk to the mosques in the dark of complete, radiant light on the Day of Resurrection.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “O Bilal, call the Iqamah for prayer; relieve our hearts with it!”
The Prophet’s ﷺ final breath: “[Hold fast to] the prayer, the prayer! And fear Allah regarding those whom your right hands possess.”

Frequently Answered Questions
How does Muqeem calculate prayer times?
Muqeem utilizes classical astronomical solar equations based on the solar declination and equation of time. Fajr and Isha are computed at the standard 18° solar depression angle under the horizon, while Dhuhr is calculated at the sun’s true zenith plus a safety margin.
Why does Asr prayer have two different times (Shafi’i vs. Hanafi)?
The majority of scholars (Maliki, Shafi’i, Hanbali) hold that Asr begins when the shadow of an object equals its own length (plus the midday shadow). Imam Abu Hanifah (RA) held that it begins when the shadow equals twice its length. Muqeem displays the earlier standard Shafi’i threshold by default to ensure safe early awareness.
Does Muqeem track or store my GPS location?
Never. When you click “Detect GPS”, your browser processes your coordinates locally using the HTML5 Geolocation API. No coordinates, IP addresses, or personal logs are transmitted to any external server.
What should I do if I missed a prayer due to sleep or forgetfulness?
The Prophet ﷺ stated: “Whoever forgets a prayer or sleeps through it, its expiation is to pray it as soon as he remembers it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari). One should perform Wudu and pray immediately upon awakening or remembering without further delay.
